My Experience With a Rubbermaid Garbage Can

A Rubbermaid garbage can is, by far, a superior product to anything on the market. I learned the hard way why I should have listened to my grandfather, who swore by Rubbermaid products forever. Living on a tight budget in today’s economy, I thought I could get away with purchasing cheaper products. I found myself constantly having to replace the garbage cans in my kitchen, bathrooms and home office every few months. I wasn’t saving money at all!

There was nothing flimsy about them. Everyone thought I was a little strange, but I was extremely proud of my new garbage cans. I talked about them to anyone who would listen. I recommended they too make the switch to Rubbermaid cans, if they hadn’t already. Hey, it’s not every day, especially these days, that you find a high-quality product you know will last a long time. Maybe my kids would someday fine one or two of them hidden in a corner of the garage, as I had. That was a very cool thought. Rubbermaid’s reputation is safe with me!

To my amazement, there is a whole lot more variety than I ever imagined. There are eight styles, which come in various colors, for indoor waste alone. Each style is available in at least two colors. The other day I discovered something incredible that no kitchen should be without . . . a 2-in-1 Rubbermaid Garbage Can and recycle bin. Garbage on top and recycling on the bottom, all in one convenient stacked container. This gives no excuses to anyone why they couldn’t throw their can into the recycling. My husband just loves the 2-in-1 for his “man cave.” I do too, because it makes clean up a snap.

Did you know that there is a 10-year warrantee on all Rubbermaid garbage cans? I didn’t either. I went to the Rubbermaid site to read some reviews, and I found out that if anything goes wrong with one of their products, Rubbermaid will either replace the broken parts, container, or possibly refund your money! Of course, you must have the original receipt of purchase. You can contact them online, by phone, or by mail. I found that the best course of action is to contact Rubbermaid online or by phone first. This way you will be informed of exactly what you need to do in order to remedy the problem you have with your garbage can.

Here is one great example (I read this on the Rubbermaid website): a woman bought an outdoor Rubbermaid garbage can, a 32-gallon Roughneck outdoor garbage can, to be exact. Shortly after purchase, the lid cracked and a wheel fell off. She was angry, to say the least. She contacted customer service to complain, expecting nothing to come of it other than getting her anger off of her chest. Surprisingly, in less than a week she received replacement parts in the mail at no cost to her. Obviously, she had the receipt. She didn’t know there was a 10-year warrantee when she called. It was explained to her that every Rubbermaid garbage can, and other products, comes with the warrantee. WOW! Now that is what I call standing behind your product.

How Would I Summarize My Feelings About Rubbermaid Garbage Cans?

On the whole, I give them two thumbs up! This is a company that really cares about the products they puts on the shelves for consumers to buy. They stand behind their products with, what I think is, a pretty generous guarantee on most of their garbage cans. The variety of their garbage cans is out of sight. There is something for every need and possible use. Rubbermaid’s products are well worth the money. Cheaper garbage cans won’t last nearly as long as a Rubbermaid. Overall, you cannot go wrong with any size or style of Rubbermaid garbage can. Indoor or outdoor, every product is well crafted and durable. I will never use another brand ever again.
